Old Videogame Jokes: Midwinter
on January 14, 2011This game was so far ahead of it’s time that it’s amazing the technological cavemen of the time knew what to make of it. A huge 3D sandbox world, multiple vehicles, 32 different player characters each with unique abilities, a proceduraly generated campaign that reacts to how you do…such a clever little gem.
I’ll be buggered if I’m going out in that blizzard though.

Wow. This game looks very interesting, and I’ve never heard of it. I’m definitely going to try it out soon.
By the way, which is the best version of it to try out? Are the Atari ST and Amiga ones significantly different?
See, this is what I absolutely LOVE about doing Old Videogame Jokes: introducing old games to new people. Personally I liked the Amiga version more than the ST one, but they’re 95% identical. The ST frame rate is just a smiiiidge faster than the Amiga one, but the Amiga version has nicer sound.
I miss Mike Singleton’s games…I think, I’ll go and have a hit at Lords of Midnight!
