The cycle of hype is really weird. Games that exist only in your imagination, or that you’ve only seen positive previews about, are perfect. They have no flaws, because they aren’t real yet. But when they come out all people seem to be able to do is complain that it didn’t live up to expectations somehow, and it drives people away from buying it because it has flaws, unlike the hot new game that isn’t out yet but is sure to be amazing.

So many really good games get ignored because they aren’t as good as a hypothetical game that isn’t out yet. It’s a real shame.
