One of the first things I learned after moving into game development from game journalism is that even after years of writing about this industry, I had absolutely no idea how games were actually made.

It’s an insight that took years to wrap my head around, and I think there’s lots of game reviewers that would learn a lot from actually making a game.

There’s a lot of game reviewers out there who make the change, very very few who make the leap back, and a tiny fraction that actually want to improve their craft and not sell out. Me, I’m a complete sell out!
